Part Two: Words that work harder than you do in your job search

You know from last week that I use language to advance my networking. You should too, especially when in a job search.

Tip #2 for words that work harder than do in your job search:

When I call someone on the phone or meet them at an event and I want to advance my networking for either filling a job (as I do daily) or to help a friend or colleague network in their job search, I use this phrase.   “Do you have the heart to network with me to fill this job?”   Or, “do you have the heart to network with my friend Larry in his job search? “

You heard it… “do you have the heart to…”  Almost no one says…”I am heartless and I will not network with you.”   Everyone says yes, even people usually difficult to engage.

Again, like the tip from last week you have honesty set up strong cognitive dissonance, and people will comply happily with your request.

    Get it?  Now try it.

One caution: if you cannot sincerely use these words, don’t. Being disingenuous is very transparent.

Have fun with these words that works.
